You are looking at one of the the most popular and controversial Native American jewelry piece ever made! This is the famous Ambrose Signed rainbow warrior turquoise inlay bench bead squash blossom necklace. For decades it has been known & published that the legendary Navajo master-smith Ambrose Roanhorse used two different hallmarks when signing his masterpieces. One is of a stick figure of horse over the letters AR and the second is the letter A inside an arrowhead. Recently there has been discussion, blogs and published articles stating that one of those signatures (A inside an an arrowhead) doesn’t belong to Ambrose Roanhorse but instead belongs to Ambrose Lincoln who is another excellent Navajo artist / instructor during the same era as Roanhorse. Though the question may forever linger on someones mind one thing is certain, this necklace is a museum quality piece! Look at the inlay work on this necklace. It is nothing short of Museum Quality!! The energy and beauty this piece holds is true to this piece. On the reverse side of the necklace you can see Ambrose’s signature stamp of the letter “A” inside of an arrowhead. It is roughly 27 inches long and weighs a solid 157+ grams. I took plenty of pictures including measurements for you to see. This is a rare treasure piece. Take advantage of owning one of the most interesting treasure pieces ever made. Uncommon Threads has empowered over 1,000 struggling women by tapping into the power of clothes and image as tools for boosting self-esteem and self-worth. The Kingman Turquoise Mine is one of the oldest and highest producing Turquoise Mines in America. It was originally discovered by prehistoric Indians well over 1000 years ago. Kingman Turquoise is known for its beautiful sky blue color and produces many variations of blue Turquoise. The Kingman Turquoise mine also produces green Turquoise from the Turquoise Mountain side of the mine. Kingman Turquoise has been the biggest supplier of Turquoise to the Southwestern Turquoise Jewelry industry for nearly as long as the American Turquoise Jewelry industry has existed. In fact, the Kingman Turquoise mine was once part of a Turquoise boom around 1000 AD when the Mayan culture was using a lot of Turquoise for self adornments and ceremonial items. Today, as in the old times, blue Turquoise from Kingman, Arizona is king, even though the mine produces all colors of Turquoise and green Turquoise is almost becoming blue Turquoise’s equal in popularity these days. The world has had a fascination for turquoise for over 7000 years. The oldest known example of any jewelry was a carved turquoise and gold bracelet found on the mummy of an Egyptian queen. In the American Southwest, Native Americans have mined turquoise since prehistoric times. Many legends surround turquoise, it is believed to bring good fortune and health. While turquoise was once used as currency in the American Southwest, it has been treasured as an adornment throughout the centuries worldwide. The evolution of turquoise jewelry from its appeal as southwestern, Native American or tourist jewelry, to one of the most coveted gems set in designer jewelry worldwide. Coveted, that is, only if you are talking about true, genuine turquoise. And so our turquoise love story continues. While the demand for turquoise has increased dramatically, the supply of genuine turquoise is limited. Turquoise is a purification stone. It dispels negative energy and can be worn to protect against outside influences or pollutants in the atmosphere. Turquoise balances and aligns all the chakras, stabilising mood swings and instilling inner calm. It is excellent for depression and exhaustion, it also has the power to prevent panic attacks. Turquoise promotes self-realisation and assists creative problem solving. It is a symbol of friendship, and stimulates romantic love. The Mineral Park Mine, (Kingman Turquoise Mine,) is located in the Acerbate Mountains 14 miles northwest of Kingman, Arizona. It has been commercially mined since the late 1880’s to the early 1900’s by the Aztec Turquoise Co, The Los Angeles Gem Co, Arizona Turquoise Co, Southwest Turquoise Co and Mineral Park Turquoise Co and now the Colbaugh Processing Inc. Green turquoise is a beautiful and striking alternative to the more commonly known blue variety. While all turquoise is primarily composed of hydrated copper aluminum phosphate, the color varies greatly depending on where the stone came from and the contribution of elements that formed it. Green turquoise is formed in areas with a higher concentration of iron. The turquoise will often highlight the matrix or veining. This happens when the turquoise forms within a parent stone and the two become inseparable. The vast majority of green turquoise comes from Nevada mines. According to ehow. Com, turquoise mining in Nevada peaked between 1940 and 1990 before slowing dramatically. This is due in part to depleting turquoise deposits and the expenses associated with mining turquoise. Damele is a chunky bright green turquoise with a high concentration of zinc that can produce stones ranging from yellow to bright green. Green turquoise really does belong in a class of its own. Its distinctive characters and beauty make it a prized addition to any jewelry collection or stone collection. No turquoise enthusiast should be without a nice piece of green. Today, green turquoise is considered an investment due to the increasing rarity of the stones. Collectors and jewelry artists often take special care to ensure the turquoise they obtain will maintain its vibrant color and stability. Collectible Mix of Old & New. All Lovely & Mostly Blue! Vintage Double Link Oval & Twist Sterling Bracelet Base. I’ve been collecting for a looong time for this one, and it was worth the wait! I don’t have much time for these anymore, but it’s something I’ve enjoyed for the past 15 years. I do still hunt for the unusual and vintage items that catch my eye, patiently saving them for just the right piece. There’s just something about vintage turquoise that stands the test of time, only getting better with age! It all started with the Peterson Johnson Royston turquoise earrings(old clip-on’s) that I have converted into charms, the caramel veining and color just pop against the gorgeous shimmering patina. I’ve always been a Royston fan, but never purposely created an entire bracelet around it. Using various pendants, earrings, charms and bench bead/stamped beads with various shades of turquoise for my hand beaded totems. Blending beautifully together for this one of a kind piece to be treasured by someone who appreciates the true artistry of the workmanship. I simply put together the palette, the individual Native American & Southwestern artist pieces are what make bracelets like this so lovely! Center focal is a beautiful Royston pendant from E Specer/Navajo measuring just under 1, the blue shaded to green with light veining is superbly set into its notched and cut bezel. Hanging above this focal is a sweet and very old Zuni petit point cross with dark patina and varying shades of turquoise cabs, all of which have darkened with time. Interspersed in between the charms are hand beaded totems and sterling stamped beads. To the left is a stamped cross, hand beaded charms, a Don Lucas heart charm with center turquoise (possible variscite by the veining) cut stone surrounded by round cabs, next I decided to hang a double charm by using a longer Harvey era/Bell stamped tag and hanging on the same sterling loop a cute Joan Slifka/Martha Willeto heart charm, next to it a vintage Shadowbox charm by Larry Tso, next is a petite unmarked turquoise blue charm, and then my absolute favorite is one of the Peterson Johnson Royston charms the color and matrix paired with his expertise sterling workmanship is truly special, I then placed a sterling bar with tiny turquoise cabs in varying shades blue/green this is an old Zuni charm, the telltale changing of color on the stones and dark patina in between, almost to the end of the left side, next to last is a sterling naja and last but not least, a glass trade bead. Willeto/Slifka heart charm hanging above, this tag has a 2 crossed arrows, another Shadowbox by Larry Tso, Peterson Jonson Royston charm, small oval turquoise charm, Zuni turquoise bar, and to finish this off a small sterling stamped cross. The toggle set is an arrow bar and I hung a petite sterling heart on the very last loop along with a very old bench bead totem. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I want you to be thrilled with this item! This is a newly created bracelet composed of vintage items that bear patina and weathering which is perfectly normal and expected. Consider photos part of description. This bracelet weighs 111+ grams of sterling and stones. Length is just under 8 & I can customize for you. The item “Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise Charm Bracelet Slifka Lucas E Spencer” is in sale since Monday, June 17, 2019.
