LARGE Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Turquoise Cluster Cuff Bracelet

This listing is for a vintage Native American, Navajo hand-made cuff bracelet, made of sterling silver and turquoise. This cuff bracelet is a showstopper, dating back from the later mid-century (1970s- 1980s). Its in excellent vintage condition with its original patina and original stones. The cuff is made up of 4 round shanks, being thicker heavy gauge silver. At each end of the cuff where the 4 shanks meet, smooth end caps were applied for easy application to the wrist. The quadruple shank is very sturdy and doesnt have much give. Its a very well made solid piece. The Artist Hand carved each stone before placing them in finely etched sawtooth bezels. They have rich pastel blue and green colors with lighter matrixes running through out. Every stone is in mint condition with no cracks or inclusions and all are secure in their settings. The design is very ornate and symmetrical with each side of the cuff consisting of matching wing sections. The face of the cuff is the showcase for this piece. The thick bed of silver is oval in shape with the outer edge having a scalloped border and silver droplets in between. The silver has a dark oxidized finished adding great depth and dimension to the piece, causing the stones and silver work to pop. The center stone is quite large taking up half of the surface area for the front. Twisted rope surrounds the center stone before a row of large teardrop stones. Silver droplets rest between each teardrop stone and another twisted rope follows. The two wing sections follow the same silver work technique as the face. However, Begay changed it up a little with the stones. He used 2 of the large teardrop stones at the North and South ends of the wings but used a very uniquely shaped stone in the middle. This is definitely something you dont see often but it works and was beautifully well done. The back of the face is stamped with the Artists signature, W. Begay, a master Navajo silversmith. There is no sterling stamp however, the bracelet has been tested and verified as. This unique Navajo made piece will make a great addition to your existing Native American collection or it could be the the perfect piece to start one. Cherish and enjoy this cuff now…. This listing features a gorgeous vintage Native American Sterling Silver Turquoise Cuff Bracelet. This single stone cuff bracelet features a gem grade quality, Blue Diamond Turquoise, stone set in a raised square-tooth bezel centered over a thick heavy gauge sterling silver cuff bracelet. The cuff and stone itself are both in excellent condition. There is a slight patina over the sterling that hasnt been cleaned or polished. The stone is very interesting with amazing blue green color and spotty veining of several different hues. It really is quite impressive! The edges of the cuff are very unique…. Starting at the front center, where the stone resides, you will see small triangular cutouts on each side. Moving along towards each side of the cuff face, it begins to take on a scalloped edge that continues all the way to the gap ends. Each gap end is then rounded off to finish the design making for easy access and comfort. Of course with edges being so unique, that would only mean that the face of the cuff would need to be as well…. Along the scalloped edges is coinciding hand stampings that surround a thick raised silver rod. This silver rod is shaped like a long teardrop with the inside being sand-cast. Truly a remarkable piece by Navajo Artist Juan Abeyta, that will surely NOT disappoint. The shank is very solid and sturdy being made from heavy gauge solid sterling silver. Therefore, the gap has no give…. Check the measurements and KNOW your wrist size. A very well made piece that will make a great addition to any existing Native American collection…. This listing is for a gorgeous vintage Navajo cuff bracelet made from solid thick heavy gauge sterling silver and natural turquoise and lapis inlay. The entire face of this cuff is adorned with several different sized turquoise and laps inlays with wafer thin silver channels in between. The design is simple with clean lines yet intricate with the most vivid colors Ive seen in quite a while. The shape of the cuff starts off at one end very wide and tapers down in width all the way around to the other end where it creates the shape of an arrow, but with a blunt edge at the very end. A classic Navajo design here Ray Tracey. There looks to be at least two different types of turquoise and it could possibly be three. These turquoise inlays are absolutely stunning!! The most eye catching of all is a greenish blue color with dark spiderweb veining and patches of gold pyrite that shimmer in the light. The Lapis inlays are a deep blue and contrast beautifully with the turquoise. Each inlay is in MINT condition with no cracks. This cuff bracelet is by far the most colorful we have collected this year. The silver is thicker and heavier than most inlay pieces and the gap is NOT adjustable….. SO MEASURE YOUR WRIST!! If you have a wrist over 6-1/4 this cuff will be too small for you. A beautifully handcrafted piece by Esteemed Navajo Artist, Ray Tracey Knifewing, that will make a wonderful addition to any Native American jewelry collection. Cherish and enjoy this piece now…. Width – Starting at the larger end the width is 7/8 and it tapers down to 5/8 at the front center, it continues to taper down to the smaller end and widens back out making the shape of an arrow. At its smallest point which is the very end by the gap it measures 3/8 wide. Thickness of silver – 1/8 thick/deep and all solid sterling. Total number of inlays – 27 total stones, with 13 being the blue Lapis and 14 being Turquoise. There are 3 of the turquoise inlays that contain the gold pyrite and they are spaced out evenly over the face of the cuff. Total size of inlay section measures – 5-7/8 long and at the large end of the cuff 5/8 wide and tapering down to 3/16 wide at the smaller end. Stamped sterling – YES, tested and verified. This set was handmade by one of the most famous artists of our time, Larry Moses Begay.
