This Turquoise Mine produces Turquoise in multiple shades of blues to beautiful greens. Carico Lake Turquoise has become very popular and highly collectible in recent years for its beautiful shades of a spring colored lime green running through a sea of light sky blue with golden brown spiderweb matrix. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine produces beautiful blue Turquoise but is most known for its spectacular shades of lime green colored gemstones. This fabulous lime green coloration is actually caused by a close relative of Turquoise mineral called faustite, the combination of faustite and zinc associated with the Turquoise creates one of the most beautiful coloration effects in American Turquoise that has ever occurred in nature. The Carico Lake Turquoise Mine got its name from its unique location, in ancient years there was a lake that has since dried, hence Carico Lake. Mining is very limited these days which makes the supply of this material limited. Due to the great demand for Carico Lake Turquoise, it has become one of the most valuable types of American Turquoise and the investment value of this Turquoise is great. Lg. HARRY MORGAN Navajo BELT BUCKLE withNatural TURQUOISE STAMPED Sterling Silver
Traditional Revival Style Belt Buckle. 3.17″ X 2.0″. Will accept a belt of up to 1.15. 65.2 grams = 2.1 Troy ounce. Harry Morgan Traditional Revival Belt Buckle. When you combine his famous dramatic stamp and design work with a wonderful Natural Turquoise Stone like this, it is quite pleasing. It is in great condition with lots of great tarnish patina and there are no issues. The reverse of the Buckle is stamp signed with the correct H. MORGAN Hallmark as you can see in the pictures. It is Not stamped “Sterling”, but it is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. I’ve seen and own quite a few Morgan buckles and this Belt Buckle seems to have all of the elements that collector of Harry Morgan’s jewelry want. The wonderful “Revival” design that Morgan introduced to contemporary style, the masterful stamp work that is both crisp and sublime, and the special formula “Old Pawn Finish” patina that Harry invented and made popular… They are all here! This is a heirloom Navajo Sterling Silver Buckle by an artist that has excited the Indian Jewelry community for years. Harry Morgan passed away in 2007. As you may know, his stamp work is in demand. The the energy, skill, and precision needed to create a successful piece of jewelry is substantial. Harry Morgan was a master of this and is primarily responsible for the “Classic Revival Style” in Navajo silver work. He has many imitators and followers… But he remains the “Best” of them! There was some additional notoriety involved for him when his work was featured in the Robert Redford movie “The Horse Whisperers”. He has won many awards since and his work is always met with great enthusiasm by discriminating collectors. His work is in the collection of The Peabody Museum at Harvard University and also in many private collections. He is referenced in the major Native American Jewelry books. I thank You and look forward to sharing a good experience!
