Southwestern Navajo Royston Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace

Rare Southwestern Navajo Royston turquoise sterling silver squash blossom necklace, unmarked. This gorgeous necklace showcases 16 high-grade Royston turquoise stones. The 6-stone naja is about 3 1/8″ tall by 2 7/8″ wide, with its larger, center stone measuring 1″ in height by 7/8″ in width, from bezel to bezel. The bead necklace has 10 turquoise stones adorning each of the graduated squash blossoms that range in height from 1 5/8″ – 1 3/8″. All the cabochons are set in smooth bezels wrapped in twisted wire, and framed by a simple, yet elegant filed border. Each 1/4 bench-made bead was individually crafted by soldering the two halves, a very meticulous work, and unfortunately a dying art. The whole necklace has a light to moderate patina, left untouched. This piece weighs a hefty 198.4 grams, and it’s just shy of 27 3/4 from hook to eye. Superb, museum quality necklace, a classic Navajo design crafted with exceptional stones. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. Additional notes: The top-center stone has a partial hairline, and the bottom-center stone has a partial line, maybe 1/4 that’s too faint to appear on the photos.
