Large and beautiful turquoise necklace. The cluster pendant is 3 inches in diameter. The side pieces are 4 inches long and the small piece attaching the pendant is 1 1/2 inches. The color of the turquoise in this necklace is spectacular. It is detailed with what appears to be a small rope design or it could be small sterling dots around the pendant and the necklace. Sawtooth bezels hold the turquoise in securely. It is stamped Sterling with the initials JW for Navajo Juliana Williams. It is lightweight enough to be comfortable wearing it all day long. Old Southwestern Indian Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace

Old Southwestern Navajo turquoise sterling silver squash blossom necklace, unmarked. This gorgeous necklace showcases 17 high-grade rich blue turquoise stones. The 7-stone naja is about 2 1/2″ tall by 2 7/8″ wide, with its larger, center stone measuring 3/4″ x 5/8″, from bezel to bezel. The bead necklace has 10 turquoise stones adorning each of the squash blossoms in graduated style, ranging from 1 1/2″ to 1 1/4″ in height. The largest blossom stone is about 13/16″ x 5/8″, bezel to bezel. All the cabochons are set in smooth bezels wrapped in twisted wire. Each 5/16 bench-made bead was individually crafted by soldering the two halves of the round bead together, a very meticulous work, and unfortunately a dying art. The whole necklace has a very dark patina (left untouched). This piece weighs a hefty 127.5 grams, and measures about 22 1/4 from hook to eye. Superb stones and silver work, classic Navajo design. It is made with handmade sterling beads and is decorated with stamped silver dots, twisted rope accents and other stamping around the settings. Tested as sterling silver.
