Vintage Southwestern Native American Indian turquoise Sterling silver bead necklace, stamped STERLING, and signed JOSEPHINE, most likely a Navajo artist. The pendant showcases a gorgeous turquoise. The light blue in the center of the stone contrasts beautifully with the striking brown matrix. Polished cabochon is set in a smooth bezel wrapped in silver rope and framed by a half-round filed border. A large silver feather applique and 3 silver spheres adorn the border of the pendant. The bale is an open hook style, and measures 9/16″ in height, just over 1/16″ in width, and a depth just shy of 1/8, which may not accommodate thicker chains. The stone alone is roughly 2 3/16″ tall by 1 1/2″ wide, from bezel to bezel. The total weight of this piece is just over 69 grams. Measures approximately 28 1/4. In length from hook to figure eight connector, and. Has small sections of 2 and 4 1/4″ bench-made beads, with 3/4″ melon beads in between them. Exceptional stone and craftsmanship! Old Southwestern Native American Indian # 8 turquoise Sterling silver bead necklace, unmarked but most likely Navajo. Showcases 5 vibrant blue turquoise stones with striking brown spiderweb matrix. The nicely polished cabochons are set in well-constructed smooth bezels wrapped in silver rope, and framed by hand-filed half-round borders. The necklace weighs approximately 50 grams total. The center pendant is about 1 1/2″ tall (including the bale) by 15/16″ wide, at its widest, and from there the other pendants taper off to 1. The 5/16″ bench-made bead necklace measures 16 1/2″ from hook to eye. Nice handcrafted piece with bright stones. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. This is a beautiful necklace/pendant combination made with nice old sterling silver bench beads. A couple of the beads have very small dings but the rest are all in excellent condition. They have a great patina. This necklace is 23 long. The pendant is 1 3/4 long. The melon beads are all 3/4 long. The seam beads are all 8 mm round. Weight is 24.51 grams.
