This vintage necklace was beautifully handcrafted by an unknown Navajo Silversmith during the mid too later-mid century. It features a classic squash design of gorgeous high polished turquoise set within sterling silver. Each stone is in excellent condition, free from cracks/chips and portray amazing color qualities of vivid deep blues and blue greens. Each stone has a good amount of matrix ranging in colors from hazy white too dark brownish black. The turquoise looks to be old Kingman but I’m not a gemologist so I can’t say for sure. The silverwork is superbly done with classic twisted ropes and semicircles surrounding each stone. Triple fluted ends adorn each blossom being made with a heavy gauge silver. They’re strong, solid, and not easily bent out of shape. The squash, as a whole, has great balance and symmetry, laying beautifully and comfortably over the chest. It’s truly a well executed piece from start to finish portraying a classic Navajo design. The pearls are original and in excellent condition being strung on sturdy silver wire with a classic hook and eye clasp at each end. The necklace has been left on its original state with a deep patina. The 12th listing photo shows the necklace on a 5’8 tall women’s size 4 model/mannequin.
