Navajo Sterling Silver Turquoise Atencio IHMSS Native American Size Ring
A vintage older signed “IHMSS” Southwestern Native American sterling silver and turquoise ring, size 6 1/4. The name “Atencio” is etched in as well. Signed for metal content, guaranteed sterling silver. The mark IHMSS stands for Indian Hand Made Sterling Silver I believe. The maker mark is shown in the photos. The face of the ring measures 32mm top to bottom, about 1 1/4 inches, 26mm side to side with the band measuring about 3mm in the rear. HUGE LONG Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Morenci Turquoise Ring Stunning Detail
This listing features a vintage Navajo ring, handcrafted from Sterling Silver and Natural Turquoise. NOTE: Make sure to view all 19 photos. Last 3 photos show ring being worn on a medium/large hand. Handcrafted in the later mid century by Melvin Thompson, this ring features a classic Navajo design at a high level of craftsmanship. The ring features a 2″ long by 1″ wide face adorned with Morneci Turquoise. The stones portray green and blue color hues with natural matrixes and shiny specks of gold pyrite. The stones are in excellent condition and rest securely in their bezels over a thick bed of silver. Twisted rope surrounds the stones followed by intricate silver works including detailed leaf appliqués, droplets, silver curls, and a flower. The ring is thick, sturdy, and in excellent vintage condition. The back of the ring has a double fused shank that splits before meeting the back of the face. It’s a solid band, in perfect round shape. A signature is stamped on one end in the form of initials reading MT for Navajo Artist Melvin Thompson. There is no sterling stamp which is common for the era however, the silver has been tested and proves to be sterling. Add this statement piece to your collection of Native American jewelry, wear with pride, and enjoy before handing it down in the future. Size – Sits between a 10.5 and 10.75 on a ring mandrel. Weight – 15.5 Grams. Ring Face Measurements – The ring face measures just a hair under 2″ long by just under 1″ wide. Stone Measurements – The stones measure 11/16″ by 5/16″ and 9/16″ by 1/4″. Shank Measurements – At bottom center the double shank measures 3/16″ wide and the split shank has a spread of 1/2″ wide when meeting the back of the ring. Signed by Artist – YES, stamped with two initials, MT for Navajo Artist Melvin Thompson. Stamped Sterling – NO, tested and verified. 925 sterling silver guaranteed. Mid Century, 1970’s+. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with original stones and naturally aged patina, ready to wear or display. I treat every item as if it were my own.
