This is a tremendous Native American large amber stone silver pendant, large pendant contains 2 absolutely stunning natural amber stones. The bottom stone is completely nestled among silver applique leaves. The astounding Navajo silver necklace is handmade with 2 shaped silver beads that are fabulously arranged and strung one after the other ending with a hook. Hallmark “Phil Zachary, sterling”. Small amber approx: 31mm H x 25mm W. Big amber approx: 38mm H x 33mm W. Pendant full height w/bale & width approx: 97mm H x 40mm W. Beads approx: 8mm x 8mm total weight 66.1grams. Background: Phillip Dean Zachary was born in 1940 and passed away in 2019. He worked as a lapidary artist and jeweler and was a leader in turquoise cutting, passing the trade legacy to his family. He was recognized by the Navajo tribe for helping them start a jewelry manufacturing operation and ran a jewelry gallery in Branson, MO for over 20 years. Work & Style: He was known in the industry as “The King of Turquoise” and his work is often found signed with his full name, “Phil Zachary” or “Phillip Zachary”. His pieces, such as rings and bracelets from the 1980s, are signed and typically feature high-quality natural turquoise with spiderweb or blue gem matrix. He also used other stones like jasper or agate. Legacy: His extensive collection of turquoise and related artwork is now maintained by his family (the fourth and fifth generations), with some pieces on display at a museum near Albuquerque’s Old Town.
