Navajo Old Pawn 1880s Style Sterling Silver Crosses Squash Blossom Necklace. Navajo Silver Cross Squash Blossom Necklace. Takes inspiration from a piece of Native American jewelry from the 1880’s. The original was made with Mexican coins, this one is handcrafted from Sterling Silver. This simple design was influenced by the Spaniards and is as popular today as it was then. This one was handcrafted by Navajo artisan Lenora Begay. This gorgeous squash blossom necklace features 12 dragonfly style and standard crosses while the center is a large cross measuring approx 3-3/4″ long x 2″ wide. These were then hand strung on a single strand of 10mm stamped bench beads. This sensational all-Sterling silver jewelry, measures about 25-1/2 long and closes with hook-eye clasp. Vintage handcrafted squash blossom necklace & earrings set by Navajo artist Eugene Becenti. The naja centerpiece needs repaired, the squash blossom dangle has broken off. No other issues noted. The necklace length is 16¼. The blossoms are 1″ long x ½” at widest and the beads are 9mm. Closes with a hook and eye clasp. Earrings are 1¾ long including the wires. Back of the naja is signed E. Not hallmarked but tested as sterling silver. Total weight is 61 grams. Most of the items we sell are pre-owned or vintage/antique.
