On offer is an authentic, vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver three (3) split band cuff bracelet adorned with hand stamped motifs and a dramatic stunning southwestern desert natural hand-cut and polished petrified wood agatized cabochon stone. Petrified wood is found in the prehistoric petrified forest east of Holbrook, Arizona and extends into the painted desert. This bracelet is not hallmarked which was quite common in earlier Native American jewelry prior to 1970. We believe it was created circa 1940 or perhaps earlier. This classic bracelet was skillfully executed in the traditional old NAVAJO technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). There is an old repair on two (2) of the bands which can be seen in the photos, but the bracelet is very stable and quite wearable. The beautiful, natural desert landscape hue petrified wood stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The colors are the typical earth tones of brick red, pale ochre yellow, and dark brown-black. The gem quality stone is firmly and securely set in a serrated silver bezel surrounded by silver rope on a blackened plaque framed by heavy silver wire work. The stone measures approx. The three (3) split band bracelet measures approx. 1 3/16″ tapering to 5/16″ wide. The interior circumference of the cuff is approx. 7 3/16″ TOTAL including 1 1/4″ opening. The cuff has some flexibility for very careful adjusting and weighs 28.3 grams. This traditional, finely crafted NAVAJO. 925 Sterling Silver and dramatic, colorful Southwest Petrified Wood cuff bracelet created by a skilled artisan would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver and Stone Jewelry, Southwest American Petrified Wood or Historic Cultural Arts and Crafts collection. We have been involved in the design and creation of contemporary jewelry at the undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1967. In 1975 we opened a gallery of hand wrought fine art contemporary jewels and have since handled thousands of unique, one of a kind and limited edition pieces crafted predominantly by American artisans with a special emphasis on Native American Art. Will be determined upon request. We believe our photos and description to be an accurate testament. Thus, ALL SALES ARE FINAL. However, mistakes do happen.
