1970s Navajo Sterling silver and Charoite. The inner bracelet circumference measures approximately 5″½ plus a 1″¼ opening, and 1? At widest point. Take advantage of the great price on this amazing bracelet! This piece of Native American jewelry is Navajo hand crafted by Navajo artist out of genuine sterling silver and a real Charoite. The stone is gently placed in a hand sawtooth cut bezel, and hand cut silver work highlight for a lovely finish. Charoite was discovered in Russia in 1978 in a mountain in Yakutia, near the Charo River. The beautiful stone has an array of color ranging from bright lavender, violet and lilac to dark purple with a combination of white, gray and black matrix. Its glorious purple color features a unique combination of swirls, feathers and needles. Charoite is believed to enhance confidence, accelerate spiritual growth, and increase the ability to love. Some people believe that Charoite got its name because of the impression that it gives “Chary” which in Russian means “charms” or “magic”.

Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Heart Pendant Charoite or Sugalite & Lapis. Marked Sterling on the back. No maker’s name or initials. It reminds me of Joan Slifka Designs. Including the large bale, it is 3 3/8″ long and 1 5/8″ widest. Weighs 32.6 grams. The blue stone is lapis. Tarnish especially in recessed areas.
