This is an amazing vintage Navajo Native American jewelry silver ring. This piece contains wonderful, blue turquoise inlay. The ring consists of very thick silver and measures to be a size 11 The ring face measures around 1x17mm Cir. Sturdy 11.8 grams. Chip inlay jewelry, characterized by crushed turquoise and other stones set in resin and polished smooth, is largely attributed to Navajo silversmith Tommy Singer, who popularized the technique in the 1970s. While other Navajo artists and the Zuni tribe also utilize inlay techniques, Singer’s chip inlay method is widely recognized and has become a staple in Navajo jewelry making. The process involves creating cavities in the silver piece, filling them with the crushed stone and resin mixture, and then polishing the surface to create a smooth, flat inlay.
