This listing features a large vintage Navajo ring, handcrafted with Sterling Silver, Gem Grade Morenci Turquoise, and Mediterranean Coral. Size – 8.5. Weight – 9 Grams. Ring Face Measurements – The ring face measures just a hair under 1-1/2″ long by 7/8″ wide. Stone Measurements – The turquoise stone measures just under 3/4″ long by 1/4″ wide and sits on top of the ring face 1/4 high. The coral measures 5/16″ long by 1/8″ wide. Signed by Artist – YES, signed with initials MJ for an unknown Navajo Artist. The ring could possibly be Hopi as well and made by Marshall Jenkins. His mark is identical to the stamped initials. Stamped Sterling – YES, tested and verified. Mid too Later-Mid Century, 1970’s +. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with original stones and a naturally aged dark patina, ready to wear or display. Expertly handcrafted in the mid century, this ring is a beautiful example of classic Navajo work. It features a long ring face boasting a gem grade Morenci stone along with a single red coral. The Morenci stone portrays a rich blue hue with dark matrixes and specks of shimmery pyrite. Each stone rests securely in a sawtooth bezel over a hearty bed of silver while being surrounded by intricate silver works of silver droplets and curling silver rods. The dark oxidization below the stones intensifies their color while also creating depth and dimension to the ring. The back of the ring has a fused double shank that splits at the sides and continues around the edge, thus creating the saddle design. It’s a very sturdy band and in perfect round wearable shape. A sterling stamp is present as well as the Artist’s initials. This vintage Navajo ring will make a great addition to any fine collection of Native American jewelry.
