Sterling Silver Navajo Pearls Bench Bead 25 1/2 Long Southwest Style Melon Seam
This necklace is sterling silver Navajo bench beads, seam beads. The silver has been darkened , then lightly polished it for an old rustic look. The round beads are 7mm and the melon beads are about 7mm by 25mm. The necklace is 25 1/2 long. Strung on sturdy fox tail chain. In order to avoid wasteful packaging, multiple items may be packaged in one box. Please note: Items in the photographs are not actual size. Close-up photos have been taken. VTG 70s sterling silver turquoise Navajo peyote bird squash blossom necklaace
Ancient symbol the peyote bird, rich with history and lore. I like this squash blossom necklace! The chip inlay is greenish blue, the sterling has a nice dark patina, the birds are strong and bold, together they look lovely! This necklace is 115 grams, 26 inches long, the birds are 2 1/4 x 1 1/8 inches long and wide. The beads are about 7.5 mm, nice and smooth, strung on a square sterling chain. No hallmarks that I can find. Very much a 1970s look. Native American, probably Navajo. Condition: very good, while it has a lot of patina, the necklace over all is in very good condition. As is lot sterling silver turquoise hand made Navajo round concho & belt pieces
Originally, these 11 Vintage sterling silver turquoise concho links went together as part of a belt. They came to me in this condition and are an AS IS lot up for grabs. The hardware has been mostly taken off the links, which has resulted in some bends and irregularities to the shapes. A jeweler or metalsmith may be able to re-purpose them as earrings or bracelets. They may also be able to re-shape some of them. Each one measures approx. 1 1/2 inches in daimeter and has a bezel-set blue turquoise stone in the center. The average size of the stones is approx. They do vary in shape, size and color with blues, browns, reds, grays, green, etc. The stones look to be in very good condition. One concho still has the buckle hardware on it, which used to fit belts up to 1 1/8 inches in width. There is other vintage age wear to the pieces including, vintage patina, fine scratches and tiny dings (plus the aforementioned bends). Some of the metal remnants on the backs are sharp. Sterling Silver & Turquoise Native American Squash Blossom Necklace&Earrings Set. Given to my grandparents as a gift from their Native American neighbors in California. It was old and vintage when it was given in the late 1980s. Not positively sure but they think they said that they were Navajo, & it was made by a member of their family. She remembers her calling it a sleeping beauty type, referring to the type of turquoise used. It is a complete matching set, that was made to go together. The total weight of both is 165 grams, 156-necklace & 9 earnings (4.5g each).
