This listing features a vintage handcrafted squash blossom necklace made from sterling silver and Natural Gem Grade Lone Mountain Turquoise. This vintage squash features gorgeous untreated Lone Mountain Turquoise over a classic 3 petal squash design. The gem grade stones portray a high polished finish with pastel color hues of green too blue green with beautiful matrixes running throughout. Each bezeled stone rests over a thick bed of silver while surrounded by twisted rope followed by a flat edged lip of silver. The blossoms carry strong and sturdy petals made of heavy gauge silver that can’t be bent out of shape easily. It’s a solid and hearty well made piece. The pearls are in excellent vintage condition and strung on a braided foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp at each end. The previous owner added an extension to each side making the necklace longer. This extension could be removed by a jeweler if one wished. Blossom Measurements – The blossoms slightly graduate in size with the larger being close to the Naja and measuring 1-3/4″ long by 3/4″ wide. The smaller blossoms, closer to the clasp, measure 1-1/2″ long by 3/4″ wide. Stone Measurements – The largest stone sits at the top center of the Naja measuring just under 1″ tall by 1/2″ wide. The 16 remaining stones range in length from 5/8″ too 13/16″. Pearl Measurements – The pearls diameter/width measures 5/8. Stamped Sterling – NO, tested and verified. Signed by Artist – NO. Mid Century, 1960’s+. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with all original parts and pieces, and a naturally aged patina, ready to wear or display.
