The book written by Steven Curtis titled, Navajo Silversmith Fred Peshlakai, His Life & Art, has featured this concho belt on the front cover of his book. At one point in his career he opened a shop in Los Angeles and worked there for 20 years. Fred Peshlakai taught Kenneth Begay jewelry making. Peshlakais silver work, designs and his exceptional turquoise stones of the highest quality brought him to the forefront of becoming a great and revered Navajo silversmith. It has the character of a first phase with its cut out center slots, but his style is so innovative that the silver work has a character all its own.
