This vintage estate piece is a bench made concho belt created by Navajo Silversmith Robert Becenti. His hallmark R B is on the back of the buckle. The belt is crafted in the traditional stamp method out of sterling silver. Each concho is individually hand shaped, stamped, and oxidized to bring out the various examples of dies used for the meticulous stamp work design. The belt is not only beautiful to wear, but is also highly collectible. The turquoise cabochons are from the Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine and are a deep sky blue color. The belt measures 36 long. Each concho is 1 1/2 ” long and 1″ wide. The buckle is 2″ long and 1 1/4″ wide. The belt weighs 103 grams. The connecting rings are 1/2 in diameter. This belt is circa mid 1970’s.
