Vintage Navajo Native American Signed E. SPENCER Sterling Silver Black Onyx Spider Brooch. Underside of brooch is signed “STERLING” & E. Fabulous Native American Navajo artist E. Spencer sterling silver and onyx spider pin. This fantastic creature features eight long legs and a bezel set onyx stone body. An accent piece to be noticed when worn. In Southwestern tribes, spiders are associated with the culturally important art of weaving, and wise spider goddesses give their assistance to the people as culture heroes. To some, it represents patience and endurance. Brooch measures approximately 2 inches long by 1.75 inches wide (at widest point). Weighs approximately 9.58 grams.
