This listing is for an older vintage Navajo belt buckle made of sterling silver and turquoise. This large handcrafted buckle is in excellent vintage condition featuring a display of tightly bunched stones over a thick bed of oxidized silver. Each stone sits securely in a raised sawtooth bezel that pops off of the dark oxidized face. They have strong vivid shades of green along with heavy black matrixes. Each stone has just the right amount of matrixes to match up perfectly with its neighboring stone. The design is finished with a wide border of deeply hand stamped silver. The swivel belt keeper and hook located on the back is in mint condition with all the parts and pieces being made of sterling silver. A fantastic find for both men and women. Will make an excellent addition to any existing Native American jewelry collection or could be the perfect piece to start one. The size is perfect… Not too big or gaudy, yet not so small it wont be seen. This piece is one to cherish and enjoy for now…… And hand down to loved ones in the future. Weight – 74 Grams. This listing is for a superbly handcrafted early Navajo cuff bracelet by Charlie Bowie. It is made of sterling silver and multiple stone inlays of Mediterranean Coral, Onyx, Turquoise, and Gold-Lip Mother of Pearl. This is truly a fantastic find….. Being extremely rare and in excellent condition, this highly sought after Navajo design will be a treasured addition to your collection of fine Native American jewelry. For the avid collector, this tangible asset is not one to pass up. The cuff is made with a thick and wide solid silver shank. The front center carries a raised silver plate featuring a raised cardinal inlay, using red mediterranean coral and onyx. The cardinal is perched on a branch made from deep hand stampings along with turquoise leaf inlays and a flower inlay of coral. Triangular inlays of green turquoise frame the center display and are set flush in the silver plate. Moving down the sides of the cuff all the way to the ends are slightly raised inlays of light blue turquoise and gold-lip mother of pearl. Wafer thin channels of silver run between the stones spacing them apart evenly. They have a high polished finish and are cut in triangular shapes, with the exception of the last inlay at each end which are quadrilateral in shape with 4 sides. Bowie used turquoise at one end and GLMOP on the other end. Small details like this truly make this piece standout from the rest. The design is finished off with loosely hand twisted rope resting in deep cutout valleys at each side of the cuffs edges….. Truly a beautiful handcrafted piece by Navajo Artist, Bowie.
