This listing features a vintage Navajo handcrafted squash blossom necklace made from Sterling Silver and Persian Turquoise. This vintage necklace was beautifully handcrafted by an unknown Navajo Silversmith during the later mid century. It features a classic squash design with Persian Turquoise stones resting in sawtooth bezels. Bright color hues of pastel blues along with subtle matrixes run throughout the stones. The lighter shades of the stones against the oxidized silver create a sharp contrast making for a beautiful piece of work. Each stone is in excellent vintage condition, free from cracks/chips, and rest securely. There are a few stones in the photos that look like they may have hairline cracks but they are NOT cracks. What you’re seeing is actually natural matrix lines within the stones. All of the stones have a smooth high polished finish. Classic twisted rope surrounds each stone along with detailed leaf appliqués that wrap and hug each stone. The bench beads are all original and in excellent condition being strung on a brand new silver wire with a classic hook and eye clasp at each end. This is a perfect squash for daily wear. It’s not overly large or bulky like other squash’s yet it’s large enough to be seen and make a statement. Add this squash to your existing collection of Native American jewelry, too cherish and enjoy before handing it down to a loved one in the future. Weight – 141 Grams 4.97 Ounces. Length From End to End – 27. Naja Measurements – The Naja measures 2-5/8″ tall by 2-5/8″ wide. Blossom Measurements – The 10 blossoms all measure 1-5/8 long. The width of the blossoms slightly graduate in size from about 7/8″ too 3/4″. Pearls/Bench Beads Measurements – The pearls have a diameter/width of 5/16. Stamped Sterling – NO, tested and verified. Signed by Artist – NO. Later-Mid Century, 1970’s +. Condition – Preowned, in excellent vintage condition with all of its original stones and a slightly aged patina, just strung on brand new silver wire, ready to wear or display.
