Sterling Silver Traditional Revival Style Concho Belt. With 69 Natural Oval Round Top Gemstones. Pink Coral, Turquoise, Red Coral, Lapis Lazuli, Spiny Oyster, Malachite, Amethyst, and Mother of Pearl. 6 Conchos + 7 Butterflies + 1 Belt Buckle. 2.0″ X 1.65″. 2.4″ X 2.0″. Tan Leather Belt is 38.5″ long and has several holes punched in it from about 28.5″ to 32. It may be modified to accommodate a larger waist of up to about 35 without replacing the Leather Strap. 234.0 grams = 7.52 Troy ounces Total Weight. Metal weight is about 6+ Troy ounces. The Harry Morgan Traditional Revival Concho Belt with 69 Gemstones. When you combine the “Classic Revival” stamping, repousse, 69 Gemstones, and famous “Old Pawn” finish of Harry Morgan, it pretty much has everything you might want in an old Harry Morgan Concho Belt. It is in Very Good condition and there are no issues in the Sterling Silver to report on. The Belt is representative of the work of a master in the history of Native Jewelry. The reverse of the buckle is stamp signed with the correct H. MORGAN Hallmark as you can see in the pictures. It is also stamped “Sterling”, and it is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic. I’ve seen and own quite a few Morgan buckles and this Concho Belt seems to have most of the elements that collectors of Harry Morgan’s jewelry want. The wonderful “Revival” design that Morgan introduced to contemporary style and the masterful stamp work that is both crisp and sublime. This is a truly remarkable Navajo Sterling Silver Concho Belt made by an artist that has excited the Indian Jewelry community for years. Harry Morgan passed away in 2007. As you may know, his stamp work is in demand. The the energy, skill, and precision needed to create a successful piece of jewelry is substantial. Harry Morgan was a master of this and is primarily responsible for the “Classic Revival Style” in Navajo silver work. He has many imitators and followers… But he remains the “Best” of them! Handmade sterling silver concho belt with Natural Turquoise Mt. Each concho features detailed stamped designs and is affixed to leather belt. Artist Name: Harry Morgan (Navajo). Yes, see hallmark on image. Size: Buckle is 3×3 inches, each concho is 3×3.5 inches, each turquoise cabochon is about 1/2 inch in diameter. Weight: One pound 13 ounces. Harry Morgan lived near Gallup, New Mexico, where he grew up, and passed on in spring, 2007. He was an incredible fifth generation silversmith. He began making jewelry at the age of 7. He won awards at nearly every major Indian art show. He mentored many Navajo silversmiths in the Gallup, New Mexico area, including Kirk Smith, his sons: Greg Pat, Kelly Morgan, Russell Morgan, Jacob D.
