DAMELE TURQUOISE CORAL Sterling Silver Vtg Navajo Old Pawn Cuff Bracelet Signed
This is a very old, unique sterling silver, Damele turquoise and coral bracelet. It was hand made and signed by the Navajo artist with what appears to be the initials VJ (see photo). These are the initials used by Virgie Jake. This beautiful bracelet features two high grade valuable gemstones! The highly domed turquoise is a very rare and very valuable green Damele turquoise. The genunine coral cabochon is very fine with just one tiny “pore”. Both gems are secure in the settings. The bracelet is made of several layers of sterling silver with appliqued leaves, tendrils, and rain beads. The silverwork is highly detailed and well done. Please use the zoom feature to take a close look. The bezels are enhanced with twist wire trim. The bracelet has hand stamping and fine wire trim. It is 1/4 wide but quite sturdy. It has been tested and verified to be sterling silver. The inside circumference is 5 1/2″ plus 7/8″ gap. It could be carefully adjusted a bit. Weight is 26 grams. It has a rich, dark patina, which I have not touched but leave that to you to decide whether or not to polish it. I love the gemstones, the very fine silverwork, and the smaller size that does not feel bulky or overwhelming on the wrist. This cuff will polish up beautifully. Items are enlarged to show detail. Coin used for size reference only. I leave patina intact so you can decide to polish or not. Any description or mention of type of turquoise is my best assessment, but not a fact, since I cannot know for sure, and to err is human. Please examine the photos and draw your own conclusions. Native American Damele Turquoise Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet HERMAN VANDEVER
Beautiful Southwestern Native American Indian Damele turquoise Sterling silver bracelet cuff, stamped STERLING, and signed by the Navajo artist HERMAN VANDEVER. This stunning bracelet showcases three bright green Damele cabochons with light tan matrices. These high-grade stones are set in smooth, well-constructed bezels deep into the recessed, oxidized setting, with a nicely filed raised border. The bracelet’s design with the dark background and the shiny border gives the piece a bit of the shadowbox feel. A shiny silver fan applique adorns each side of the heavy gauge three-tine cuff. The tines merge together at the terminals. This piece weighs 73.4 grams, it’s 1 1/4″ tall, at its tallest point, and measures 5 5/8″ around the inside, end to end. Add 1 1/8 for the gap. The center stone alone is approximately 7/8″ tall by 13/16″ wide, from bezel to bezel. The other two stones are roughly 7/8″ tall by 5/8″ wide. Exceptional stones and craftsmanship.
