This is a Heavy Vintage Sterling Silver Navajo Squash Blossom Necklace Set comprised of the necklace, ring and earrings. It weighs a nice heavy 212 grams for all pieces and 192 grams for the squash. The earrings measure 2.5 length x. The ring is a size. 7 1/2 and measures 1.25 length x 1.5 width. The squash measures 26 in total length and is strung on foxtail chain with a hook and eye clasp. The naja measures 3 length x 2.5 width. Each blossom measures 1.5 length x. This is an exquisite set with lovely turquoise stones, beautiful detailing on each leaf and contains a nice patina. Southwestern Navajo Royston Turquoise Sterling Silver Squash Blossom Necklace

Southwestern Navajo Royston turquoise sterling silver squash blossom necklace, unmarked. This gorgeous necklace showcases 16 high-grade Royston turquoise stones. The 6-stone naja is about 3 1/8″ tall by 2 7/8″ wide, with its larger, center stone measuring 1″ in height by 7/8″ in width, from bezel to bezel. The bead necklace has 10 turquoise stones adorning each of the graduated squash blossoms that range in height from 1 5/8″ – 1 3/8″. All the cabochons are set in smooth bezels wrapped in twisted wire, and framed by a simple, yet elegant filed border. Each 1/4 bench-made bead was individually crafted by soldering the two halves, a very meticulous work, and unfortunately a dying art. The whole necklace has a light to moderate patina, left untouched. This piece weighs a hefty 198.4 grams, and it’s just shy of 27 3/4 from hook to eye. Superb, museum quality necklace, a classic Navajo design crafted with exceptional stones. Thank you for supporting authentic Native American art. Additional notes: The top-center stone has a partial hairline, and the bottom-center stone has a partial line, maybe 1/4 that’s too faint to appear on the photos. Vintage NATURAL ROYSTON TURQUOISE SQUASH BLOSSOM NECKLACE, Old Pawn c1960s, HUGE. For your consideration is this absolutely spectacular and high quality Navajo vintage handcrafted sterling silver Royston Turquoise Squash Blossom Necklace, circa 1960s era. This gorgeous squash blossom necklace features ten large, classic blossoms handcrafted from heavy gauge sterling silver and set with hand cut cabs of premium quality Royston turquoise, which is very rare in today’s market. The aqua-blue hues and matrix patterns are simply fabulous! The blossoms are topped with two sterling leaves and surrounded with exquisite hand tooled fancy scrollwork. The naja is huge at 4″ x 4″ with a large center stone and four smaller ones. These were hand strung on two rows of handmade sterling bench beads that tapers to a single strand. The Royston turquoise cabs measure about 3/4″ x 1-1/4′ while the squash blossoms measure approx 1-1/4″ wide x 2-1/4″ long and the naja is 4″ wide x 4 long. The necklace measures approx 27 long with the naja adding to the profile, closes with hook-eye clasp. Weighs about 292 grams. There are no markings that we would find, but guaranteed to be Native American made. Some light old pawn patina that has not been cleaned. Will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Today, the Navajo tribe creates the most well-known and sought-after Indian jewelry on the market. Their tradition of jewelry making dates back to the 19th century when the Navajos began to work with silver acquired from Spaniards. This is a very old, more than likely pawn necklace. The turquoise is set on a solid foundation of sterling silver. One turquoise stone has a chip on the side, see photo #8. If you start on the right and count to 5, it’s number 4. By the way, the fact that it has a chip tells me that these are natural turquoise stones (stabilized stones do not crack or chip). The necklace itself is bench made sterling beads. The necklace is 16 long and sits comfortably on my collar bone, which is perfect for open blouses. I have not hand polished the necklace, what you are seeing in the photos is the natural patina. If you want it to shine just polish it with a soft polishing cloth – that’s the beauty of sterling silver, it can become dark and be polished back to a beautiful shine time after time.
